What you need to know for Auditions and Crew Interviews
Auditions can feel scary. If it's your first time auditioning for a play or your 7045th time auditioning, it's always hard.
Here is how Auditions will go for the 2023 One Act.

What are Callbacks
Call Backs are a unique time for the director to play around with casting.
It's a time to see how each actor works with others on stage.
For actors it is the time to put your best team-work foot forward and keep an open mind to new scene partners.
The agenda will look similar to Auditions:
September 6th, 2023
3:15 pm : Everyone Gathers in the Auditorium
Introductions and Check in
Light stretches and Vocal Warmups (no singing, just talking!)
One or two theatre games to get some nerves out
Discussion of Callbacks Process
*We will most likely have callbacks in an "open" format with everyone auditioning remaining in the auditorium*
Script excerpts will be provided for actors and you will be asked to perform the scene "cold", or without preparation.
You may be asked to do some improv, meaning you'll be asked to pretend you're in a given scenario and make up lines and movements for yourself.
All auditioning Actors will be asked to come to Call Backs.
Technical/Production Crew Interviewees may be asked to attend Call Backs.
I would like to see Shakespearean, or Comedic monologues
If you have a monologue that you have been actively working on, please bring that one to do.
If you've never done a monologue in your life, no worries, I've got you.
Choose from one of the monologues below to bring to auditions.
*If you don't like any of the monologues here, do a google search for "comedic monologues" or choose a passage from a favorite book or movie that speaks to you.*
PLEASE PRINT THE MONOLOGUES IF YOU CAN'T MEMORIZE THEM IN THIS SHORT TIME.
AVOID READING THEM OFF YOUR PHONE OR CHROMEBOOK.
